If pomegranate is already a favorite, our collection offers it in several recipes with different textures, even where the fruit flavor is shared. Plain Pomegranate Delight has a soft lokum body. For a fruit-and-nut combination, Pomegranate Pistachio Wick Delight offers the rolled form that our confectioners slice into individual pieces. How We Prepare the Pieces
Beetroot and fruit sugar, and starch cook together in our kettles as the confectioners prepare the lokum base for their recipe. For a nut-filled variety, the nuts become part of the confection’s body. The lokum rests until it reaches the texture needed for shaping, with the final form determined by the variety of our confectioners' creations.
Wick takes on its elongated shape during preparation, and our confectioners slice the roll with special lokum knives. Inside a pistachio-filled slice, the cut exposes the nuts within the lokum. The pale powder around our Turkish delight is a special starch that keeps the pieces separate, particularly where the soft surfaces would otherwise adhere to adjacent pieces.
Begin with the Bite You Enjoy
Pistachios appear in both HC and Afyon recipes, but the proportions of individual pieces differ between our typical cuts. Afyon is the larger, fuller piece. If that sounds appealing, Afyon Pistachio Delight is a good place to look in the collection. HC has smaller cuts with a dense nut composition, suitable for someone who wants a compact piece with plenty of nut character.
For a soft fruit-flavored lokum, we offer Plain Pomegranate Delight alongside other Plain recipes, such as lemon and orange. The word “Plain” identifies the family, even where a fruit flavor appears in the name. Choose the flavor that appeals to you, then look at its available weights. Mini Delight belongs to this soft lokum family with smaller pieces and several presentation boxes.
Orange Hazelnut Wick Delight pairs orange’s citrus flavor with roasted hazelnuts enclosed within the chewy lokum that forms the confection. For Walnut Fig Wick Delight, we enclose figs and walnuts within the lokum. If pistachios are your preference, Pomegranate Pistachio Wick Delight offers that nut in a fruit-flavored slice.
Lemon and orange contribute their own aromas to our Plain Delight recipes, alongside the sweetness from sugar derived from sugar beet. Turkish Delight by Weight
Hand-cut lokum slices vary in thickness, which changes the number of pieces needed to reach the weight you have chosen. We use grams or kilograms to describe the quantity you purchase, with approximate piece counts available as a guide to the regular families.
For Wick Delight, the approximate guide is 14 grams per piece and around 70 pieces per kilogram. HC pieces are smaller, at approximately 10.5 grams each, and around 95 pieces per kilogram. If you are deciding how to divide a box, keep the selected family attached to those estimates.
Afyon’s fuller pieces average approximately 34 grams in our guidance, with around 30 pieces per kilogram. For regular Plain Delight, the guide is approximately 10 grams per piece and around 100 pieces per kilogram. The confectioners’ slicing determines the final piece count in a box measured by weight.
Choosing a Weight for an Individual Recipe
Several individual delight pages offer 400-gram and 600-gram boxes, allowing you to choose a smaller quantity of a particular recipe. For Afyon Pistachio Delight, the current selection is available in 1-kilogram or 1.5-kilogram quantities. Its largest listed option is two kilograms. We keep the available options next to the selected product, along with the price for that package.
Orange Hazelnut Wick Delight and Plain Orange Delight share a citrus flavor, so your preference for a nut filling offers a useful starting point. In the Wick recipe, roasted hazelnuts accompany the orange. Plain Orange has the tender lokum texture associated with its family. We offer both recipes in 400-gram and 600-gram boxes. For a larger quantity, the Plain Orange selection is 1.5 kilograms, while the Orange Hazelnut Wick Delight is 2 kilograms.
HC’s dense nut filling requires additional preparation from our confectioners, whose work contributes to the price alongside the nuts in the recipe. Wick’s shaping and slicing have their own preparation requirements.
Mini Delight and Its Packages
Mini Delight, known as kuş lokumu, is cut smaller than regular Plain Delight and comes in packages with their own stated weights. Choose the Crystal Box S for 230 grams, or the Tall Canister for 360 grams. The larger Crystal Box, labeled Crystal Box L, contains 470 grams.
Galata and Istiklal appear among our Mini Delight packages, at 630 grams and 750 grams in the current selection. If a red metal box appeals to you, the S size contains 900 grams, and the M size contains 1,350 grams.
“Mini” also appears in our gift collection as a package name, so “Mini Delight” and an “HC Mini Box” refer to different purchases. The H.C Mix Delight Mini Box contains an assortment from the HC family. If you are looking for kuş lokumu, choose the Mini Delight product.
An Assortment or One Favorite Recipe
Chef’s Wick Mix Delight offers a chef-selected assortment with a stated weight of one kilogram, for people who enjoy the rolled lokum format.
